google visitors- is it me ... no , really, it may be me
When I check out goole analytics, how do I find out if some of the vistors are me.
Afterall, I may be looking at myself visiting myself and getting all excited at the number of people coming to my site only to find out it was me.......lol.

Inappropriate?Hello,
Google Analytics allows you to apply filters to your reports that will let you exclude your own activity. Here are a couple of links to Google's help pages that should give you the information you need.

Inappropriate?Hi There,
First of all great post - and a great question! Google analytics will normally track any visits to your site, including your own - the main way to take your own visits out is by creating what's called a filter within your analytics account.
There are a number of ways to remove your visits but by far the best, if you're on a cable/ADSL connection is by your IP address.
If you want to know what your IP address is, go to a site such as this. Make a note of the address it gives you as you'll need it later to create the filter.
Log in to your Google Analytics account and click on "edit" next to your Tradespace website profile. (far right like the image below)

You'll get a "settings" screen for your profile come up - scroll down the page untill you get to the bit that says "Filters Applied to Profile". (looks like the below picture) and click "Add Filter" (far right)

A new page which will allow you to create your filters will come up. Now to exclude visitors based on an IP address you need to create a new filter. So give your new filter a description so you know what it's doing - then change the drop downs as indicated in the picture below and enter your IP address you discovered earlier. Then click save changes. The new filter will then be applied to your profile.

This will only work if you connect to the internet from an IP address that doesn't change and if you want to apply other filters then you can add up to 20 to one website profile. For more information on applying filters check out these help articles from Google.
Hope this helps!
Thanks!
Brian.
