This Connection is Untrusted VERY IMPORTANT ADVICE
VERY IMPORTANT ADVICE
My advice is to IGNORE the advice to proceed when you see the "This Connection is Untrusted" message.
Click "Get out of there!" immediately.
It is TOTALLY IRRESPONSIBLE advice to proceed, as you could easily be spoofed into giving your details to a potential fraudster if you do this again.
Why?
A criminal hacker could spoof the BTT email right now and get you log-in details, PayPal information etc, etc. because he has seen the advice to ignore it!
You've been warned!

Information
When you visit a website whose web address starts with https, your communication with the site is encrypted to help ensure your privacy. Before starting the encrypted communication, the website will present Firefox with a "certificate" to identify itself.
The certificate helps Firefox determine whether the site you're visiting is actually the site that it claims to be. If there is a problem with the certificate, you will see the This Connection Is Untrusted alert page.
Seeing the alert does not necessarily mean that the website you're visiting is trying to trick you into believing it is a different website - it means that Firefox isn't able to verify the identity of the website, and that you should proceed carefully.
Get out of there!
The safest thing to do is to click Get me out of here!, or to go to a different website. Unless you know and understand the technical reason why the website presented incorrect identification, and are willing to risk communicating over a connection that could be vulnerable to an eavesdropper, you should not proceed to the website.

Inappropriate?Hi there,
I suggest this advice ONLY applies if you are not 100% sure of the domain or website you are visiting - the reason why you're seeing this error message is that the secure certificate that's associated with the website has expired and the browser is informing you of that fact - this is in hand and should be rectified today - it's perfectly safe to proceed and manage your website in the normal way.
If you're not 100% sure then make sure you're visiting http://www.bttradespace.com or https://www.bttradespace.com/login
If you recieve an email that asks you to login to tradespace always ensure that the url your are visiting is the one above.
Thanks

Inappropriate?I see.
I have and email with www.hsbc.com address in it.
Shall I proceed past the "This Connection is Untrusted" then?
I’m no longer worried this HSBC email is a scam
-
Inappropriate?Hi There,
If the url it directs you to upon clicking on that link doesn't send you to www.hsbc.com then that would be a definite no - the bottom line is, is that if you've typed the domain in your browser (or clicked on a link from an email) you need to check and double check that it's the one you want to and intended to visit. The security certificate will only verify the ownership of the website and encrypt any contents both to and from the server - if it's expired then it's still safe to proceed as long as the site is the one you wanted to visit in the first place.
Hope this clarifies further.
Thanks!
Brian
